Remember that both boat and jet ski licences can be obtained on the same day with needalicence.com.au .

Where are courses held?

Complete the theory component on-line within 4 days of your practical assessment. Meet at 40 Allambi Terrace to complete the MSQ multi-choice quiz.

How much will it cost?

$150 per licence (boat or jet ski) or both licences on same day $250

What do I need to bring?
You MUST bring:

  • identification (e.g. Driver’s Licence, Medicare card, etc.) plus a hat, sunglasses, jacket and lunch are optional

How do I prepare?
Complete the on-line course (takes approx. 4 to 4.5 hours)

 

What will be covered in the course?
Practical training includes preparing, launching, manoeuvring and retrieving a vessel. Practical assessment includes high and low speed skills such as picking up crew overboard (lifejacket),  figure eight turns and coming alongside a jetty.

The on-line theory element covers all essential topics in accordance with BoatSafe Queensland requirements. Major topics include:

    • Preparing a recreational vessel for operation – equipment, registration and legislation
    • Operating a recreational vessel in accordance with international and State regulations – buoys, beacons, collision regulations, incident reporting
    • Exercising seamanship and basic navigation – knots, charts & compasses, tides & weather
