NEEDALICENCE.COM.AU CODE OF PRACTICE

1.1.1     Fees and charges are currently (2017):

·        $150 per person for a Boatsafe Recreational Marine Drivers Licence (RMDL)

·        $150 per person for a Boatsafe Personal Watercraft Licence (PWCL)

·        $250 if both RMDL and PWCL licences on same day for same candidate

·        $110 Apply First Aid

·        $55 CPR

1.1.2     Refund Policy

·        If the candidate cannot attend the course, provided 24 hours notice is given, the booking can be transferred to another course.

·        Should the course be cancelled the candidate has the option of transferring to another course or a full refund.

1.1.3     Grievance, appeal and/or review processes for candidates

·        Any grievance with Needalicence needs to be lodged in writing to the management and will be replied to within 28 days

·        Candidates have the right to appeal assessment decisions. This needs to be lodged in writing to the management outlining the reasons for the appeal. A reply in writing will follow within 28 days

1.1.4     Information about the course delivery and objectives

·        The Boatsafe Recreational Marine Drivers Licence (RMDL) involves a theory component of about 4 hours duration followed by a short test and a practical component of about 2 hours (depending on numbers).

·        The Personal Watercraft Licence (PWCL) requires that the candidate already possesses an RMDL or equivalent. This course involves a theory component of about one and a half hours duration followed by a short test and a practical component of about 30  minutes).

·        The course(s) can be delivered either in one day or split over two days depending on the clients’ demands.

·        Upon successful completion of the course, proof of identification and payment of the fee, a Statement of Competency (Test Certificate) is issued to the candidate who must present this to the Department of Transport to finalise the licensing process.

·        Apply First Aid involves completion of an on-line course prior to attending the face-to-face course. Candidates are required to print out the course completion certificate at the end of the online course and to bring this on the day.

1.1.5     The outcomes to be achieved by candidates are:

·        To understand the rules and regulations required by Maritime Safety Queensland

·        To be able to demonstrate the basics of navigating and handling of a recreational Boat and Jet Ski safely

·        To be able to pass a theory and practical test for the issue of your Boatsafe Recreational Marine Driver Licence and Jet Ski (PWC) Licence

·         To demonstrate competency in the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of the casualty, the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

1.1.7     Expected conduct of candidates

·        All candidates to complete the Medical Fitness Disclosure Statement at the commencement of the course.

·        A PFD must be worn when training on a jet-ski or boat if the candidate cannot swim

·        All candidates must obey the instructors commands

·        All candidates must not be impaired by alcohol or drugs

·        No candidate is to jump or dive overboard

·        Candidates must not get on or off the boat or jet ski until the instructor says so

·        Candidates who need assistance (eg. Poor reading level, physical disability, etc.) must inform management upon enrolment so any necessary changes can be made

1.2         All Needalicence personnel shall comply with the Queensland WH&S Act 1995

1.3         All Needalicence personnel shall be made aware of and shall comply with the BoatSafe Conduct of key personnel 1.3 – 1.12 inclusive

1.4         BoatSafe logo can be used by Needalicence once the BTO is approved.

1.5         The BTO Needalicence and all persons engaged by it will not intimidate, abuse, insult, harass or otherwise cause distress to any client or former client.

1.6         The BTO Needalicence and its BTP’s will adhere to the provisions of the Trade Practices Act 1974 and the Queensland Fair Trading Act 1989

1.7         Needalicence.com.au will not employ employees of MSQ, DPI (B&F) or Water Police due to potential conflicts of interest
